Annual training exercise for active shooter, June 18 to 22
Similar to prior years, a training exercise sponsored by the UC Santa Cruz Police Department will be held from June 18 to 22 at the Theater Arts Center and Baskin Visual Arts complex.

Instruments of good
Introductory physics students test their knowledge and get exposure to the wider world in a class project in which they create musical instruments to be donated to kids in need.

Parking and traffic during year-end activities
On Thursday, the Graduate Division will host their commencement in the Quarry Amphitheater beginning at 4pm. On Friday, there are 18 departmental or organizational celebrations scheduled throughout the day, resulting in hundreds of visitors needing on-campus parking.

Commencement stories: Rachel Doran
Rachel Doran is a Ph.D. candidate in the graduate program in biomedical sciences and engineering, working on HIV immunogens. She has won a Graduate Research Symposium award for her presentation on “From armor to Achilles heel: Targeting the glycan shield of HIV in novel vaccine strategies”.
