Community assistance — missing student

To: UC Santa Cruz Community

From: Nader Oweis, Chief of Police

The UC Santa Cruz Police Department is seeking the community's assistance in locating an at-risk missing student.

Tejas Kaladi was reported missing by his parents on Thursday, June 15, after they came to campus to take him home for the summer. Kaladi did not show up to their predetermined meeting location at Merrill College, nor has he answered phone calls.

Kaladi is about 5-feet 5-inches with black hair and brown eyes. A recent photo of him is attached

After beginning an investigation into Kaladi's whereabouts, we have determined he may be at-risk because of statements he has made about harming himself.

We have also received reports that he may have been seen in the downtown area at 11 p.m. last night.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is encouraged to call the UC Santa Cruz Police Department at or 831-459-2231, ext. 1.
