Seasonal flu vaccines will once again be offered to students at the Student Health Center located across from the University Center and Colleges 9 & 10 on McLaughlin Drive. The flu vaccine will significantly reduce your chances of being bedridden with influenza and missing class for a week. It lessens the chance that you will get your friends, coworkers and family sick when you return home during winter break. The flu vaccine is strongly recommended for persons with asthma, diabetes and any disorder that weakens your immune system. The flu vaccine is safe and effective.
Flu vaccines will be offered by reservation only at the Student Health Center on the following days and times:
Tuesday 10/25/16 10:00am-4:30pm
Wednesday 10/26/16 10:00am-4:30pm
Thursday 10/27/16 10:00am-4:30pm
In order to reduce waiting time, appointments are strongly encouraged and can only be made online on the Health e-Messenger website:
https://studenthealth.ucsc.edu/
There is limited space, so please reserve early. You will need your student ID card at the time of your appointment.
The influenza vaccine costs $25.00. UC SHIP student insurance covers 100% of the charge for the influenza vaccine. If you have outside insurance, you can submit your statement to your health insurance company. The $25 charge will go directly to your University account and a bill electronically mailed to you. Not all companies cover these vaccines. Please check your plan.
