Annual Giving Tree Program

To: UCSC Community

From: Dean of Students on behalf of the Student Volunteer Center

The Student Volunteer Center (SVC) is pleased to announce its annual Giving Tree Program, which is designed to help collect gifts for children in the Santa Cruz Community. Our Giving Tree program works with the Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Home, Family Student Housing, and the Walnut Avenue Women's Center, to provide holiday gifts to children in the Santa Cruz area who are a part of these assistance and residential centers. “Giving Trees” are located at both on and off campus university facilities, containing ornaments with a child's name and their wish list. Generous participants pick the desired ornament(s), purchase the items, and bring them back to SVC so the gifts can then be wrapped and delivered.

If you would like to participate, you can do so by selecting an ornament from a tree near you (locations include OPERS, Kerr Hall, Student Health Center, 2300 Delaware, just to name a few). You can also email SVC to request a list of giving tree locations, or to request that an ornament be sent to you via inter-campus mail.  Campus community members are also welcome to drop into the SVC office located at Hahn Student Services #245, to pick up an ornament.  All gifts are due back by November 25th; each ornament includes the drop off instructions.
