Reporting Academic Dishonesty

To: UCSC Faculty

From: Richard Hughey, Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Education

The Council of Provosts and I ask you and your teaching assistants to be on guard for, and to formally report, incidents of academic dishonesty by following the Committee on Educational Policy's Academic Integrity Policy.

College provosts are committed to taking action on these cases. Second instances usually result in suspension for up to a year,  as can particularly grievous first instances. Third instances usually result in dismissal from the UC system.  But, without documentation of all cases and close adherence to policy, such actions are not possible.

Please be timely in submitting academic integrity forms and related documents to college provosts so they may act upon each case.
