We are very pleased to report that the University of California and AFSCME reached a tentative agreement late last night that covers more than 8,300 service workers systemwide, including approximately 500 of our own employees.

As a result, AFSCME agreed to call off the five-day strike it had announced for March 3-7 at UC campuses and medical centers.

UC’s Office of the President has just issued this press release about last night’s negotiating breakthrough.

Thank you.
