An exhibition featuring historical and contemporary work at the intersection of feminism and maternity opens on Feb. 5 at UCSC’s Sesnon Gallery, accompanied by a one-day symposium and a screening series.

An art exhibition–featuring historical and contemporary work at the intersection of feminism and maternity–opens on Wednesday, February 5, at UCSC’s Sesnon Gallery.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a one-day symposium and a screening series organized by UCSC assistant professor of film & digital media Irene Lusztig and University of Alberta art history professor Natalie Loveless.

Symposium: Complicated Labors:
feminism, maternity, and creative practice

UCSC’s Digital Arts Research Center (DARC), Rm 306

10:30 a.m: Keynote address by Mary Kelly, artist, feminist, writer, and professor of art and critical theory in the School of Art and Architecture at UCLA
