Crime Bulletin — UPDATE (451 PC- Arson; Additional Cases: #13-1035, #13-1054)

The UC Santa Cruz Police Department and Fire Department have responded to two additional arson cases this past week on the campus.
 
•  On November 27, 2013, at 3:39 pm, an unknown person intentionally set a fire on Chinquapin Road near Fire Break Road causing minor damage (Case #13-1035)
 
•  On December 3, 2013, at 2:56 pm, an unknown person intentionally set a fire in the gully near the Academic Resource Center (ARC). Responding police officers arrived to find flames and extinguished the fire using a fire extinguisher.
 
These fires are in addition to other arson and suspicious fires that have occurred since August.
 
•  October 9, at 2:40 pm, a small fire was intentionally set in the ravine below Hahn Student Services Building, north of the Village (Case #13-800);
 
•  October 6, at 3 am, a wildland fire on Meyer Drive at Heller Drive, near College 8, was declared as suspicious (Case #13-793);
 
•  August 26, at 2:30 pm, a multi-acre brush fire across the West Entrance on Empire Grade was declared as suspicious (Case #13-697).
