SUA Spring Music Festival Letter to Community and Poll

UCSC Music and Arts Festival in the Spring on the East Field.

The Office of Internal Affairs of the Student Union Assembly is dedicated to establishing and maintaining a high quality of student life at UC Santa Cruz. For the past couple of months we have been working towards hosting a UCSC Music and Arts Festival in the Spring on the East Field. As a member of the University of California System, our campus-wide student life is often compared to sister institutions. UCLA hosts an annual “Bruin Bash”, UCSD hosts its annual “SunGod Music Festival”, and UCSB puts together an event called “Extravaganza Music Festival”. The Student Union Assembly and Office of Internal Affairs believe that UCSC students deserve an incredible and memorable experience, such as a large music and arts festival, which we hope brings our university together in an unprecedented way. The planning process is complex and it is a first-time project, but we are extremely excited and optimistic!

We are now outreaching to the UCSC community to gauge interest and generate student, faculty, and staff support.
