Recruitment for Assistant Vice Chancellor, Staff Human Resources

To: UCSC Staff and Faculty

From: Jean Marie Scott; Associate Vice Chancellor, BAS Risk and Safety Services

On behalf of Sarah Latham, Vice Chancellor Business and Administrative Services (BAS), I am pleased to announce that the campus has undertaken a national recruitment and search for the position of Assistant Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Staff Human Resources (SHR).    The AVC SHR is the senior staff human resources executive at UCSC and will be responsible for leading the campus during a time of significant organizational change including the implementation of the new UC Path program. Working with senior leadership, the AVC SHR will lead, develop and manage progressive human resource services, programs, and systems aligned with the university mission of teaching, research and public service.  This person will also continue to advance the campus vision for being the “employer of choice” for our region.

Members of the Search Committee include; Lisetha Aranda, Jan Cloud, Laurie Eppler, John Guertin, Nicolle Laird, Marie Logan, Jim Moore, and Madlyn Norman-Terrance.  I serve as Chair for the Committee and the process.

As the recruitment proceeds, the campus community will be given an opportunity to meet the candidate finalists and to provide input to the search committee.   On campus interviews for the finalists will be scheduled toward the end of the fall quarter in December, or in the beginning of the winter quarter.

Please contact me at jmscott@ucsc.edu or 459-3031 if you should have any questions about the search process.
