On-Campus Photography Contest
The Chancellor’s Office is holding a photography contest to choose a photograph of the UC Santa Cruz campus, taken by a member of the UCSC community, to use as the front cover of its season’s greeting card.

In a day of celebration, the Santa Cruz City Council voted to declare an official “UC Santa Cruz Banana Slug Day” while students feted their yellowy mascot on campus. The festivities marked 25 years since the UCSC administration made this once countercultural, underground symbol the official mascot of UCSC.
