Town hall meeting about post employment benefits

To: UCSC Staff and Faculty

From:  Assistant Chancellor Ashish Sahni

On Monday, October 18, the campus will host two town hall meetings about proposed changes to UC's post employment benefits. The format will follow past forums on this topic: A forum for staff and faculty will take place from noon to 2 p.m., followed by a 30-minute break and then a forum for emeriti and retirees from 2:30-4 p.m. Both events will take place in the Stevenson Event Center.

UCSC panelists will include Chancellor George Blumenthal, Campus Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Alison Galloway,  Committee on Faculty Welfare Chair Suresh Lodha, and Staff Advisory Board Chair Don Calerdine. They will be joined by systemwide representatives, including Executive Vice President for Business Operations Nathan Brostrom, Academic Council Chair Daniel Simmons, and Pension & Retirement Programs Director Gary Schlimgen. I will serve as host and moderator.

For those who are unable to attend, the session will be videotaped and accessible from UCSC's Budget Update website (http://www.ucsc.edu/budget-update/) following the forum.

Those unable to attend may submit questions for the panel via a web form.
