What: You are invited to cover a breakfast forum with Santa Cruz County community leaders hosted by UC Santa Cruz Chancellor M.R.C. Greenwood to highlight some of the campus’s recent achievements and to provide an update on plans for growth and construction.
When: Tuesday, August 1, 2000
7:45 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Where: Stevenson Dining Hall
UC Santa Cruz campus
Who: Invited guests are leaders in business, education, and government. Chancellor Greenwood will be joined by other senior campus officers, including Executive Vice Chancellor and Campus Provost John Simpson and Vice Chancellor for Business and Administrative Services Tom Vani.
Other campus participants will include Gary Griggs, professor of earth sciences and director of UCSC’s Institute of Marine Sciences, Manuel Pastor, professor of Latin American and Latino studies and director of UCSC’s new Center for Justice, Tolerance, and Community, and J. Michael Thompson, associate vice chancellor for outreach, admissions, and student academic services.
Why: This forum will provide an opportunity for community leaders and university officers to discuss issues of mutual interest, including campus achievements, housing, transportation, enrollment projections, development, and other issues. Following a briefing by campus officials on UCSC’s current priorities, university representatives will be available to answer questions and exchange ideas.
