Rahul Gandhi, former president of the Indian National Congress, and India’s best-known opposition leader, highlighted the dysfunction and corruption of the current Indian government during a recent surprise visit to UCSC’s Silicon Valley Extension campus.

STUDENT SUCCESS INITIATIVE

UC Santa Cruz has joined Hillel International’s Campus Climate Initiative, aiming to foster a campus climate in which Jewish students feel comfortable expressing their identity free of antisemitism, harassment, or marginalization.

Students have found success through the Next Generation Scholars in Applied Mathematics program, which provides students with scholarships and additional support such as counseling and career readiness workshops.

Longtime journalist and radio producer, alumna Stephanie Foo, explores her diagnosis of complex-PTSD in her first book, What My Bones Know: A Memoir of Healing from Complex Trauma.

The Latino Alumni Network—an alumni organization designed to connect the UCSC Latinx community—is returning as a hub for Latinx alumni under the direction of new co-chairs Guadalupe Sanchez and Amaris Trujillo.
