    Malin Pinsky honored for sustainable fisheries research, thought leadership

    Malin Pinsky, associate professor of ecology and evolutionary biology at UC Santa Cruz, will be honored by the University of British Columbia for his research related to climate change and sustainable marine fisheries globally. UBC has named Pinsky the winner of its Peter A. Larkin Award, which recognizes "leading fisheries researchers who are committed to research excellence, inspiring education, and innovative societal engagement."

    Diane Gifford-Gonzalez elected to the National Academy of Sciences

    Distinguished Research Professor Emerita of Anthropology Diane Gifford-Gonzalez was recently elected as a member of the National Academy of Sciences. Gifford-Gonzalez is a trailblazer in the field of zooarchaeology, which uses animal remains to gain new insights into the deep history of humans and animals.
