In a message to Academic Senate leadership on Monday, Chancellor Larive writes, "As chancellor, my duty is to ensure that UC Santa Cruz continues to deliver on its mission of teaching, learning, and research; that all our support resources and services are available to everyone in our campus community; and that everyone feels comfortable to express their ideas and views. The encampment and related incidents created frequent challenges to our central functions."
