Two UC Santa Cruz biologists receive Howard Hughes Medical Institute Professor awards

Professors of ecology and evolutionary biology Beth Shapiro and Erika Zavaleta are among a select group of innovators in science education chosen for HHMI funding. They will use biodiversity surveys and field research to get more students engaged in science.
