The UC Santa Cruz Farm’s Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program starts soon. Join the campus’s 2017 CSA program and get a fresh-picked box of organic produce from the UCSC Farm each week while supporting one of the nation’s longest-running organic farming and gardening training programs. Join by May 1 to receive the Early Bird discount of 5 percent off the cost of your share.

In 2017, the full CSA season begins June 6 (weather permitting) and runs through November 3 (22 weeks). Shares for the full season cost $560. A payment plan and limited-income shares are available (see below); the program also accepts SNAP/EBT benefits.

A share of produce contains a diverse supply of freshly harvested organic fruits and vegetables throughout the season (roughly 8–13 items per week).

For those who may be away for part of the summer but still want to get in on the CSA, the "late-season share" is available for $280, with pickups beginning August 22 and extending through November 3.

An optional Flower Share is available for an additional $10 per week. Shares are available for pick up at the UC Santa Cruz Farm, or at the Westside Farm & Feed store on Swift Street on Tuesday afternoons.

To sign up for the UCSC Farm’s 2017 CSA program, please go online and follow the directions for enrolling in the 2017 CSA.  This year, you can use your credit card to purchase your share online. Questions? Call (831) 459-3240, or send an email to casfs@ucsc.edu.

Proceeds from the CSA program help support the Apprenticeship in Ecological Horticulture, a six-month training program in organic farming and gardening offered annually through the UCSC Center for Agroecology & Sustainable Food Systems.
