The Conversation editor to encourage faculty expertise on pressing issues

The United States editor of The Conversation will visit campus on March 9 to talk with faculty and graduate students about publishing with the independent news and opinion outlet.

The Conversation, which started in 2014, has roughly 3.3 million users visiting its website. 

Maria Balinska will present to faculty and graduate students at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on March 9 in Kerr 212. Prior to joining The Conversation, Balinkska was an editor with the BBC.

Several UC Santa Cruz faculty members have published articles with The Conversation in the past several years. Additionally, The Conversation has a distribution partnership with the Associated Press, which opens up the potential for publication in newspapers across the United States.
