The University of California is proposing a systemwide Environmental, Health & Safety Policy.

The purpose of the policy is to establish a baseline of minimum standard for all University of California locations and ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.

The policy is intended to support the university’s goals in:

  • preventing workplace injuries and illnesses,
  • avoiding property losses or damage,
  • protecting the environment by reducing adverse impacts, and
  • maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental protection laws and regulations.

The proposed systemwide policy is available at: http://policy.ucsc.edu/policies/policiesinreview/UCEHS.pdf
