New director of Risk Services appointed

To: UC Santa Cruz Community

From: Jean Marie Scott, Associate Vice Chancellor, Risk and Safety Services

I am very pleased to announce Stefani Khaleel as the new Director of Risk Services. Stefani succeeds Saladin Sale who retired in June, 2016. Stefani joined the campus community on January 3, 2017.

Stefani is an experienced leader with a breadth of knowledge and expertise in risk services and enterprise risk management. She has an impressive background with over 15 years experience in professional risk management, including many years directing company wide insurance and risk portfolios, as well as advising both U.S. and global risk management clients. Prior to joining UCSC, Stefani worked in risk management positions at 24 Hour Fitness, Levi Strauss Company, Marsh and the FDIC.

Stefani earned her B.A in Economics and Politics from Saint Mary’s College of California and her MBA in Finance, also from Saint Mary’s.

I want to thank the members of the search committee including John Bono, Elise McCandless, Pat Goff and Cindy Delgado. Their time and effort contributed to this successful outcome. I am especially appreciative of the members of the Risk Services Team who provided mission critical coverage during the interim period. My thanks are also extended to Toni Porath and the talent acquisition staff in Staff Human Resources who handled all of the logistical and recruitment activities for the search.

Please join me in welcoming Stefani to our UCSC community.
