On January 27, 2015 at 6:40 a.m., UC Santa Cruz Police Department officers arrested Patrick Sizemore and Emily Barnett on a suspicion of auto burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and unlawful possession of hypodermic needles. While Sizemore was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail, Barnett was cited and released at the hospital where she was taken for emergency medical treatment.

At the time of Barnett's arrest and release, she intentionally provided a false name and presented herself as another person. It was later determined Barnett gave false information. Since then, UC Santa Cruz officers have been actively seeking and following various leads to locate and arrest Barnett.

As a result of these investigative efforts, UC Santa Cruz officers located and arrested Barnett Feb. 10 at 4:30pm in the 2700 block of 41st Avenue in Soquel. Barnett was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on a suspicion of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, receiving stolen goods, providing false information to a police officer, false impersonation of another person, and outstanding felony warrants.
