Undergraduate education seeks three part-time faculty administrators

To: UC Santa Cruz faculty

From: Richard Hughey, vice provost and dean, undergraduate education

This year, the Division of Undergraduate Education is undertaking three searches for part-time faculty administrators:

Initial review dates are November 3 (college provost positions) and November 7 (faculty director).

Application is through the links above or recruit.ucsc.edu.

College provosts are key campus scholar-administrators focussed on the academic programs of their college, alumni connections, faculty community, and a multitude of other issues.  Provost positions include two-course release, stipend, and summer salary.  The college provost positions will begin July 1, and are three-year appointments.  Please feel free to contact me (rph@ucsc.edu) or a current or past provost to further discuss these positions.

The programs abroad faculty director is the academic head of our study abroad programs within the International Education Office.  The position includes campus leadership and promotion of study abroad opportunities, academic oversight of existing programs, and developing strategies to increase opportunities for our students.  The position is a 1.5 year appointment beginning in January 2015.  There is a stipend for the first six months, and a stipend and course release in 2015-16.  Please contact SIO/AVP Joel Ferguson (fjf@ucsc.edu) with any questions.

For each of the positions, please think about the role that you may be able to play as we continuously work to enhance student success and opportunity.
