Walk to Class Challenge Day on April 22nd

To: UCSC Undergrads

From: TAPS on behalf of Jessica Pearson, Provost's Sustainability Intern

My name is Jessica Pearson, and I am a Provost's Sustainability Intern working with Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) to create an exciting, new annual event called Walk to Class Challenge Day that will take place on April 22, 2014 – Earth Day!

The idea for the Walk to Class Challenge Day came from students in the Blueprint for a Sustainable Campus, and is a student-led effort to:
- promote walking as a viable and sustainable transportation mode for cross-campus travel;
- reduce UCSC’s carbon footprint;
- improve individual health;
- and help students make more sustainable choices for themselves and the environment.

By participating, you will be taking a step in the right direction to help achieve these goals!

Please join me in this exciting, new challenge by registering today.  Registration continues through the Challenge Day on April 22, and there is no cost to participate. Upon completion of the event and final survey, all participants will be entered to win a $50 Visa gift card!
