UC Santa Cruz is one of 21 colleges and universities to receive the highest possible score in Princeton Review's new rankings of environmentally friendly schools. The publisher of multiple college guides tallied scores for 806 institutions based on a scale of 60 to 99.

UCSC and 20 other schools received the highest possible score (99). In an announcement April 20, Princeton Review named these colleges and universities to its "2013 Green Rating Honor Roll." UCSC is the only UC campus among the 21 highest-scoring institutions.
