Announcing 2012 Campus Elections

To: Undergraduate Students

From: Lucy Rojas, Assistant Dean of Students and Elections Commissioner

I write to announce that the 2012 Campus Elections are scheduled for next week.  Voting will begin at 12:00 am on May 16th and continue until 11:59 pm on May 22nd.   All undergraduate students registered for Spring Quarter 2012 are eligible to vote.

The 2012 undergraduate ballot includes the following:   voting for the 2012-2013 Student Union Assembly (SUA) Officers, voting for College Representatives to the SUA, and an opinion poll sponsored by the Academic Senate's Committee on Educational Policy.  A sample ballot may be currently viewed at:  https://elections.sa.ucsc.edu/2012_sample.cfm

The Student Union Assembly elections commission encourages you to get involved during the campus elections.  Currently, the commission is taking questions for upcoming online debates that will be aired during the week when voting begins.  If you have a specific question that you want answered by any of the candidates this year, please e-mail elections.sua@gmail.com.  Any question relevant to student life and student government will be considered, so submit your question now!  Deadline is this Sunday, May 13th.

Election results will be announced in early June 2012.  For additional information or disability related needs, please contact 831-459-1676 or larojas@ucsc.edu.
