To: UCSC Community

From: Ravi Rajan, College Eight provost; Susan Welte, College Eight college administrative officer

We are writing to share with you the very sad news that College Eight sophomore Camila Lee has passed away. A resident of our college last fall quarter, Camila was majoring in Environmental Studies.

While the cause of Camila's death is under investigation at this time, we ask you to join us in expressing our deep condolences to her family and friends.

Services for Camila, who came to campus from the San Diego County community of Fallbrook, have not yet been announced. At UCSC, the colleges will be planning a celebration of Camila's life and her friendships with students in many areas of the campus.

As always, should any member of our campus community feel the need for support, please do seek it. The campus's Counseling and Psychological Services Office is available for our students at 831-459-2628 any time, day and night. Faculty and staff also have access to counseling services through the UCSC Employee Assistance Program.
