Campus offers language immersion program this summer

A prestigious language immersion program will be held on campus this summer. Children of all UCSC faculty, staff and alumni will receive tuition discounts.

Middlebury College and the Monterey Institute of International Studies teamed up to establish the Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy [MMLA] in 2005.

MMLA’s residential programs are offered to middle and high school students.  Participants immerse themselves in their language of choice, and commit to speaking only the target language, both inside and outside the classroom, throughout the program’s four-week duration.

UCSC community members will get a 5% discount for any of the summer programs offered by the MMLA. If the tuition is paid in full before January 15th, participants will receive an additional 10% discount.

Languages offered at UC Santa Cruz will be Chinese, French and Spanish.   This residential program dates are June 26 – July 23, 2011.

Other programs and languages are available at Green Mountain College in Vermont, Roger Williams University in Rhode Island, Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, Lewis University in Illinois, Oberlin College in Ohio, Pomona College in California, and Wofford College in South Carolina.
