UCSC launches new web site

Screen shot of UCSC home pageUC Santa Cruz in late August launched a newly designed campus home page and a large number of related upper-level web pages. The structure and design of these pages reflect input from faculty, staff, students, alumni, and others.

This publication of these new pages is part of a comprehensive web improvement program, co-led by the campus's University Relations and Information Technology Services divisions. This initiative also involves the adoption and implementation of a campus-level content management system that will enable UCSC to more easily and effectively keep web content consistent and current.

In addition to the campus's "home" environment, Phase 1 of the project involves the Humanities Division, two of its academic departments, and Porter College; these other pilot sites were scheduled to transition to the new design and architecture in early September. Other partners in the early phase of this project will transition their sites to the new system in coming months.

The new home page includes a suite of QuickStart pages, designed to contain audience-specific resources for current students, faculty and staff, UCSC alumni, prospective students, parents and other family members, and members of the Santa Cruz community.

Your input is important to the staff who are hard at work on this project. Please share any comments via a "Feedback" link that appears at the bottom of each revamped web page.
