Dear Colleagues,
As you may have heard, Humanities Dean Georges Van Den Abbeele has accepted a position at Northeastern University as dean of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities. You can learn more about Dean Van Den Abbeele's appointment online. He will continue at UCSC until he assumes his new post in September.
In consultation with Humanities department chairs and others, I will appoint an interim dean to serve throughout the 2010-11 academic year, and I will inform you when that appointment has been made.
