Mandatory Online UC Ethical Values Compliance Briefing to Launch on February 25, 2010

To: UCSC Faculty and Staff

From: Campus Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor David Kliger

On February 25, 2010, the Compliance Briefing will begin on the UCSC campus for staff and academic employees. If you are required to take this course, you will receive a personalized link from the UC Learning Center (UCLearningCenter@UCOP.edu) that will direct you to the online Compliance Briefing. You will have until December 2010 to complete the course, which should take about 20 to 30 minutes. Employees will be required to re-take the course each year.

The Ethics briefing is designed to reinforce the University of California Statement of Ethical Values and Standards of Ethical Conduct adopted by the UC Regents in May 2005 and to convey University employment obligations with respect to ethical and compliant behavior.

The Briefing may be taken on any computer with internet access and does not need to be completed in one sitting. However, if you do not complete the course in one sitting please retain your email with the personalized link so you can re-access it for later completion. The Briefing will remain available to you for reference throughout the year. Classroom versions of the briefings for non-computer users will be available later this year.

Visit UCSC Compliance Briefing for more detailed information about the briefings, course usage tips, technical information, intended audience and campus contacts.

Thank you in advance for your participation and cooperation in meeting this requirement.
