Internship Opportunity - Campus Life Ambassador Program

To: UCSC Students

From: Alma Sifuentes, Dean of Students

I am writing to tell you about a new and exciting opportunity in the Office of Campus Life and Dean of Students. I am committed to providing each and every student with Red Carpet Service; a service that not only meets your expectations, but exceeds them. To this end, I am looking for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in serving as Campus Life Ambassadors, focusing on gathering student feedback on services provided by the departments in the Campus Life Organization (OPERS, Student Health Services, Resource Centers, SOAR/Student Media, Career Center, EOP, STARS, Learning Support Services and Disability Resource Center). Ambassadors will also provide me advice on important student issues.

The Campus Life Ambassador is a new internship opportunity that is available for Winter and Spring Quarters 2010. The Ambassador position will provide students with the opportunity to gain relevant work experience, build community with other Ambassadors, and represent student voice at a critical time in University history. Each Ambassador will conduct weekly surveys to collect student feedback regarding services, events and programs in Campus Life. It is critical that the Campus Life Directors and I hear directly from students as we are making key budgetary and programmatic decisions. The Ambassador position is a paid student internship.

Please visit: http://campuslife.ucsc.edu/student_resources for more information on the Red Carpet Service program or to review a complete Ambassador job description (including stipend information). To submit an application for this internship, please visit: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=skFFaCIenWDniWFlKVZffw_3d_3d. The application deadline is November 29, 2009.

Please direct any questions to: deanofstudents@ucsc.edu. I look forward to hearing from you.
