H1N1 Flu Shots for Students

To: UCSC Students

From: Drew Malloy, MD, Medical Director, Student Health Center

We are pleased to announce that our first shipment of H1N1 vaccine has arrived, and we will offer UCSC students H1N1 flu shots next week by reservation only.

College-age students are at higher risk for complications from H1N1 infections. This fall, two UCSC students have already been hospitalized with severe cases of pneumonia. Students living in residential settings are strongly encouraged to get immunized.

Consider getting a flu shot to lessen your chance of H1N1 infection and potential serious complications.

H1N1 Flu Shot Clinics are conveniently located at the following campus locations:

Tuesday, October 27, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Stevenson Event Center

Wednesday, October 28, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Merrill Cultural Center

Thursday, October 29, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Graduate Students Commons at Quarry Plaza

Students may charge the $15 Administrative Fee to their student account or pay by check or cash. Blue Cross Anthem (USHIP and GSHIP) insurance plans will reimburse individuals for the cost of influenza vaccine administration as will many major insurance carriers.
