Resources for Working with Students in Distress

To: UCSC Staff

From: Associate Vice Chancellor/Dean of Students Alma Sifuentes, Student Affairs

I write to introduce a new resource that provides you with information related to working with students in distress, particularly as they exhibit concerning behavior in your offices or in your presence, or if you hear about such behavior from colleagues, faculty or TA's.

This resource "folder" can be found at: http://campuslife.ucsc.edu/staff_resources/RedFolder_Final.pdf. To request a hard copy folder, please write to deanofstudents@ucsc.edu(please note that a limited quantity is available).

Please familiarize yourself with these resources, for future reference and assistance. Please be aware that if you know the student's college, you can always contact the College Administrative Officer (contact information listed on the "folder") or Associate Vice Chancellor Jean Marie Scott. If you do not have this information, you can contact me and my office can coordinate support for you.

Please remember that the Division of Student Affairs, the Office of Campus Life and the Dean of Students Office are always available to assist you with any student matter.
