Recruitment Management System - Phase II Implementation

To: UCSC Staff and Faculty

From: Recruitment Management System (RMS) Project Team

In September 2005 the Staff Human Resources implemented Phase I of the Recruitment Management System (RMS) which replaced the manual paper-based process utilized to facilitate Open and Campus-Only recruitments. Phase II implementation is scheduled to begin May 15, 2008. This roll out will include Non-Recruitment and Waiver of Recruitment processing capabilities as well as general system modifications. Use of Phase II functionality will be implemented in three stages outlined below:

* May 15: General system modifications.

* June 2-22: Non-Recruitment/Waiver of Recruitment Pilot Program.

* June 23: Remaining campus units will begin using RMS to process Non-Recruitment and Waiver of Recruitment actions.

A series of one hour briefings is scheduled for May 2-12. These briefings will provide an overview of the general system modifications coming on-line May 15. Attendance is voluntary, but strongly encouraged for individuals who routinely use the system to facilitate Open and Campus-Only recruitments. Space is limited, so enroll early by calling the Staff HR Employment Office at 459-2009. Information will be repeated in each offering, so attendance at one briefing is sufficient.

Non-recruitment/Waiver of Recruitment Pilot Program participants will receive additional information in the coming weeks. Briefing schedule and project updates are available at, http://shr.ucsc.edu/announce/rms-phase-ii/. Questions should be directed to rmshelp@ucsc.edu or System Administrator, Jean Fargo at 459-5444.

Thank you,

RMS Project Team
