UCSC in the News is a weekly column summarizing prominent media placements UCSC faculty, staff, and students have received.

Assistant professor of film and digital media Gustavo Vazquez was quoted in a Santa Cruz Sentinel article about his new documentary film, Que Viva La Lucha (Wrestling in Tijuana), that premiered at the 30th annual Mill Valley Film Festival (see Currents story).

Patricia Zavella of Latin American and Latino studies penned an op-ed for the Santa Cruz Sentinel about the health care needs of immigrants.

Assistant professor of theater arts and design Brandin Baron-Nusbaum was featured in a San Jose Mercury News article about how current fashion trends date back historically hundreds of years. Australia's Townsville Bulletin also picked up the story.

The Santa Cruz Good Times ran an interview with Marco Barricelli, the new artistic director of Shakespeare Santa Cruz (see Currents story).
