ITS Service Announcement For CruzTime Users

To: CruzTime Calendar Users

From: Information Technology Services (ITS)

Last Friday, March 2, 2007, we installed the new Daylight Saving Time (DST) rules for 2007 and subsequent years on the CruzTime calendar system.

With this update in place, we now ask you to undertake a little maintenance on your end.

Please review meeting times which were already scheduled between the new and old DST start dates, and between the new and old DST end dates. Some of these may appear one hour later than originally scheduled and will need to be manually corrected.

2007: March 11 - April 1 or October 28 - November 4

2008: March 9 - April 6 or October 26 - November 2

2009: March 8 - April 5 or October 25 - November 1

2007: March 11 - April 1 or October 28 - November 4

2008: March 9 - April 6 or October 26 - November 2

2009: March 8 - April 5 or October 25 - November 1

Please note that, after you have corrected the meeting times, the attendance status for all invitees of affected meetings will become "Will Confirm Later" and may need to be corrected by the invitee.

If you synchronize your calendar with a handheld device, please contact the vendor for updates. Refer to this Web site for assistance: http://its.ucsc.edu/dst_2007. In consultation with other UC campuses, issues have been reported with calendars on Palm devices.

These changes to the Daylight Savings Time rules are required by the federal Energy Policy Act of 2005. We apologize for the inconvenience created by these changes. If you have any questions, please contact the ITS Support Center at 459-4357.

Thank you.
