Editor's Advisory: UC Regents will visit UCSC on February 13-14

Members of the University of California Board of Regents will visit the UC Santa Cruz campus on Wednesday, February 13, and Thursday, February 14. During their visit, the Regents will tour the campus and hear an overview of the campus's programs and goals.

The Regents periodically visit different campuses in the UC system. Such visits are in addition to the six regularly scheduled business and policy meetings that the Regents hold annually.

The Santa Cruz visit will not be a business meeting of the board, but it will include public comment sessions each day. In addition, presentations to the board will be made by faculty, students, and the campus administration (see schedule, next page).

Individuals wishing to speak during the public comment periods must apply in advance to the Office of the Regents. (The Regents' Public Comment Policy is available online at: www.ucop.edu/regents/pubcom.html.)

Public seating at the various venues will be filled on a space-available basis.

Editor's Notes:

If reporters, photographers, or camera crews wish to come to one or more of the Regents' venues to cover presentations or public comment periods, they must reserve space no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, February 11.

To do so, please call Jim Burns in the Public Information Office at (831) 459-2495.
